A) CUSTOMS CLASSIFICATIONS
If you are taking your car to BFG or an EEC country you may use it in the UK for a period of up to two
Months
If you are taking it to somewhere like SERBIA or elsewhere outside the EEC you may use it in the UK
for a period up to six months.
US,other NATO forces and Diplomats serving in the UK have other procedures which we will guide
them through individually.
Tell us where you are going when you place your order & we will send you the appropriate Customs
forms.
For most ex-pats purchasing LHD for use within the EEC it is more advantageous to purchase
Tax Paid, if you keep it & use it in the UK for a clear six months before you export it then
your tax liability, if any, would come under the 'transfer of residence' rules - this is especially
relevant if you are taking the vehicle to Spain or Ireland and any other country in the EU who
impose additional high first registration taxes.

B) DELIVERY ARRANGEMENTS - You choose the delivery point!
1) UK DELIVERY - This is normally at our premises in KENT and, in your interest, it is better for you to
collect your new car personally. You have spent a considerable sum of money on it & we want to
ensure that you are totally satisfied with your purchase, so do please come Monday to Friday 0900 -
1700. The LVLO in Maidstone is only open Monday to Friday if you need to re-register a part
exchange vehicle
. - If you are travelling from Europe by car with your family over the weekend why not take them
home first & then travel down with a clean & empty car to us on the Monday at your leisure.
- If you wish to come by train there is a Station within walking distance of the dealership, Trains run to Tonbridge from Dover Priory or Charing Cross / Waterloo East
- We can arrange delivery at your local home dealer in the UK for an extra £250.00 if you have no Part Exchange
- Alternatively we can arrange for your new car to be ROAD DRIVEN direct to you anywhere in the
UK for an extra charge of £50 within 100 miles of Tonbridge. The additional cost over 100 miles
or Transporter delivery would need an individual quote.

2) BFG DELIVERY - This is by transporter direct to you in the RHINE ARMY area. Extra cost is
£395.00!
ITALY / CYPRUS - Shipping can be arranged to Salerno / Larnaca for appx £370.00.
SHIPPING - Including return at the end of your tour of duty - can be arranged to almost anywhere
in the world subject to individual quote
MARINE INSURANCE is an additional cost & is subject to individual quote.

C) PART EXCHANGE - if you have a part exchange RHD or LHD we can generally only agree to delivery &
handover at our premises in KENT, however if you are British Forces and cannot come back we can
arrange for the transporter in the RHINE ARMY area to bring your vehicle back to the UK at an extra
cost to you of £250.00. The vehicle must be UK tax paid/registered when it arrives here. THIS IS
YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND MUST BE DONE PERSONALLY BY YOU! All valuations are Tax Paid!

'COST TO CHANGE' is the important figure to look at when comparing quotes with other companies. Used car valuations for tax free cars are usually nett trade so to compare the valuation with a value in a magazine, which would be gross, you need to add the discount allowed on the new car to the valuation AND THEN COMPARE IT TO THE VALUATION IN THE MAGAZINE!

D) INSURANCE - is available from TF Insurance Services in the UK on 0044 1509 221390 or your local
NAAFI Financial Services office & in BFG try AXA Military Sales on 05241 26239

E) PAYMENT - Should be made in full at least SEVEN DAYS BEFORE DELIVERY by BANK TRANSFER,
Bank Draft or Building Society cheque on the day - CASH is no longer acceptable under new UK
'Money Laundering' legislation

- CREDIT facilities are only available for members of the UK armed forces with low or even nil deposits & repayments up to 60 months. Let us know if you want us to arrange finance for you & we will then send you an application form!

F) PLACING THE ORDER - You can give us a Credit/Debit card deposit over the phone on +44 (0) 20
7026 0020 with your Date of Birth ( This is now compulsory in the UK to register a vehicle), UK
Registration address including Post code are also needed to register the vehicle. We will then
fax or post you written confirmation of your order & the receipt for your deposit
